Hello!

I'm Joel, a 21 year old student, passionate for re-selling clothes and trainers. I've summed up my story below, but here's a quick list of my accomplishments in the world of selling

- Personal shopper used by Celebrity management agencies,  TV personalities, Professional Footballers, and Musicians.

- Owned 10+ E stores, reselling contemporary designer/sportswear, some of which generated consistent months of 4+ figures

- Telegram group with 20+ members connecting budding re-sellers to wholesalers across the world

- Extensive knowledge of re-selling and drop-shipping processes

Back the way we came

I first started drop shipping in 2017, buying boxes of fidget spinners and other 'in-trend' devices from China after a friend had told me it was a 'get rich quick scheme'. Unsurprisingly, as a naive and overly optimistic 15 year old I ended up losing a lot of my hard earned pocket money. However, it ignited an addiction to buying and selling. In addition to this, a budding taste for menswear, quickly led me to re-selling on sites such as eBay and Depop. Having first started with the standard vintage job lots (boxes and boxes of Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hillfiger etc), I realised selling brands I not only knew and wore, but brands that were actively growing within contemporary culture would wield superior results. My first real taste of success coincided with the surge of popularity in Stone Island due to celebrities such as Drake and Liam Gallagher in the late 2010s. I started trading luxury Jackets, and in the process established a base to personal shop (link here for more), and cultivated an extensive knowledge bank upon platforms such as Vinted, Ebay and Depop. This and a teenage obsession with sports/designer wear, led to me continuing to resell brands such as Stone Island, CP Company and Adidas all over the world.

From 2019-2024 I opened over 10 stores on Ebay, Vinted and Depop, selling a range of clothes and products.  Not all was sunshine, but through trial and error, I was able to gage what factors drove my sales and what hindered my sales.

The summer of 2024 brought my best results yet. I attribute this success to a combination of strategic marketing efforts—everything from refining the aesthetic look of a store, to understanding when to use advertising and when to hold back. My awareness of contemporary culture and fashion trends, and my ability to spot trends before they take off, played a key role as well. Now, in my final year of study, I don’t have the time to constantly scale another reselling business. However, I’m eager to share my knowledge and insights at the most affordable prices. JGS isn’t about making money. I expect to earn far less than what I could by reselling online, but it’s about something greater: building a personal brand, fostering a community, and above all, helping people create side hustles to break away from the challenges of modern life.
